The Lucky One

The record label Kitsuné Maison announced this month that they would be releasing their seventh compilation album, which they are dubbing 'the lucky one', on 1st June 2009.

For those of you unfamiliar with Kitsuné, the fashion and music label is based in Paris and has been picking up electro artists and promoting them to fame since 2002. Over the years their compilation albums have developed a massive following, and have featured artists such as Boys Noize, Hot Chip, Klaxons, Metronomy, Cut Copy, Digitalism, Simian Mobile Disco, and Crystal Castles.

They also announced the tracklist for the upcoming album, and not only that but offered a free track (see below):

1. Two Door Cinema Club – Something Good Can Work
2. We Have Band – Time After Time
3. Phoenix – Lisztomania (Classixx Version)
4. Crystal Fighters – Xtatic Truth
5. The Golden Filter – Favourite Things
6. La Roux – In For The Kill (Lifelike Remix)
7. Beni – Fringe Element (Short Like Me Edit)
8. AutoKratz – Always More (Yuksek Remix)
9. 80 Kidz – Miss Mars
10. James Yuill – This Sweet Love (Prins Thomas Sneaky Edit)
11. Men – Make It Reverse
12. Chew Lips – Solo
13. Chateau Marmont – Beagle
14. Heartsrevolution – Untitled
15. Delphic – Counterpoint (Delphic’ En Route Mix)
16. Encore
17. Maybb – Touring In Ny (Short Tour Edit)
18. Renaissance Man – Rythym
19. Tanlines – Bejan

Yuksek's remixes always brilliant, and this one is no exception. This track is awesome, hopefully reflecting the standard of the rest of the album! In the words of Kitsuné themselves, "the break is sublime: 'take my hand, you can break my heart' sung through a vocoder".

Calling In Sick

I actually love these Australian boys, can't believe they aren't even signed yet! First heard of them over at iRobotic, who posted one of their tracks here a while ago. I already posted one of their remixes on this page, here are a couple more. The original Disco Sirens is definitely worth a listen, and has spawned a hell of a lot of remixes, but I think Calling in Sick have blown most, if not all, of the others out the water with this one. Killer!

The Mr. Oizo remix is so catchy, I haven't been able to get it out my head for the past week.

Unfortunately for those of us who don't live down under, Calling in Sick only seem to play around their home town of Sydney for the moment. Hopefully they will be picked up soon and start touring worldwide, I can imagine their live shows being siiiick... see what I did there.
